Evaluation and Research Consulting
Scoping, designing and supporting the delivery of robust, actionable research and evaluation on some of the UK's biggest transitions.

About
I specialise in policy and programme evaluation. I design and deliver evaluations that help clients determine whether programmes and policies are working, for whom, and how.
Major transitions such as those required to mitigate climate change, reverse biodiversity loss, or prepare for an ageing population require major changes in the economy, technological advances, and ambitious goverment and private sector investment. They will also require huge changes in the way we live and work.
Learning about what works (and how) in these transformations, as well as what does not work (and why) will be crucial. We need to generate robust evidence to support change as well as providing accountability for public expenditure.
Services
I work with policy teams, evaluation commissioners, and research / evaluation teams to design and deliver purposeful, robust and actionable evaluations.
This involves:
-
Developing a deep understanding of challenges and identifying opportunities for intervention
-
Bringing evaluative thinking into policy and programme design; ex ante evaluation
-
Early scoping / design of evaluations - as early as possible in policy / programme design
-
Design and delivery of formative, developmental, process and impact evaluations.
