Evaluation Consulting

Supporting both Evaluation Consultancies and Evaluation Commissioning organisations to strengthen the part they play in production of robust, actionable insights for some of the UK's major challenges.

Supporting design and delivery of evaluation

MBA helps evaluation consultancies to design and deliver evaluations that stand up to scrutiny and actually inform decisions—particularly in complex, high-profile government programmes.

Mission oriented policy involves major transitions across society. Achieving Net Zero, securing sustainable growth, halting and reversing biodiversity decline, making our streets safe, and making the best use of longer lives will require major changes in the way we live and work, as well as technological advances. Each will need significant and sustained government and private sector investment and ongoing iterative testing, evolution and scaling of solutions. These kinds of challenges, and the solutions that will be needed to address them  require evaluation systems that are up to the job - evaluation needs to be multi-disciplinary, systems informed, adaptive, agile, and robust. MBA works in all these areas, building and delivering evaluation frameworks that really help add value to policy and practice across the system of action.

Supporting commissioning

MBA provides evaluation strategy, commissioning and management support to client organisations (What Works Centres, ALBs and delivery agencies).

Commissioners shape the context in which evaluation is undertaken and used. MBA helps ALBs, what works centres, and delivery agencies to design evaluation systems that drive better decisions, procure and manage evaluation effectively and make the best use of evidence and learning from those evaluation.
