I specialise in policy and programme evaluation. I design and deliver evaluations that help clients determine whether programmes and policies are working, for whom, and how.

Mission oriented policy involves major transitions across society. Achieving Net Zero, securing sustainable growth, halting and reversing biodiversity decline and adapting to an ageing population requires significant changes in the way we live and work, as well as technological advances, and will need considerable goverment and private sector investment.

​

These are complex, long term challenges and they need approaches to evaluation that are up to the job. I am working in all these areas, building and delivering evaluation frameworks that really help add value to policy and practice across the system of action.

I help consultancies and research firms delivering evaluation for Government to deliver high quality, robust and useable evaluation products. I support teams to deliver robust and actionable evaluation and learning frameworks. I build capacity in these organisations for framework development, evaluative thinking, use of theory / theory of change in evaluation; evaluation methods, data strategies.

This involves:

• Building good connections with consulting teams

• Developing frameworks for developmental, process and impact evaluations alongside teams

• Demonstrating effective clients and stakeholder engagement in evaluation processes

• Developing and supporting data and analysis strategies

• Helping teams to evolve and adapt their evaluations as clients requirements are gradually clarified and in context of emergent learning
